Adobe Illustrator Tutorials website Design

Use Adobe Illustrator to Create a Clean Website Layout

Step 3

The Artboard can be toggled between visible and invisible by going to . The problem with this is that it takes a little longer than showing and hiding guides (Command + Semicolon Key) So, I find it best to use guides and hide the Artboard. Over the course of laying out a whole website you will find it much easier to press a quick key command rather than going to the top of the screen and selecting from a list every time.

You may find it easy to establish balance and a nice hierarchy by first drawing simple grey boxes on your page. The thin rectangles represent where I plan on using text while the large grey boxes will be images.

Step 2

After you have a general idea of what the layout will look like you can add guides and remove the grey boxes.

Hi Meatie,
I too am a graphic designer. I designed my website and I design design digital designs. I do some real paper scrapn as well. I am self taught on the digital side. I bought Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Illustrator.
They both are a good source for never ending creativity. Put them together with a creative mind, and it will never end in what you can create.
However, I would not recommend the above two for beginners because of the high learning curve. They can be very overwhelming for someone starting out.

Photoshop tutorials...?

Do anybody know of an really good video tutorials for photoshop and possible illustrator? Like videocopilot.net is REALLY good for After Effects... so i was wondering if there was any REALLY good tutorials for the other adobe products. Thank you

Here's some blogs you might want to take a look at. I check these every day but they don't all update every day.

addition, this is a collection of links that I've bookmarked over the past 9 months or so. Not all of these are video tutorials but hopefully you'll find something that will help.

Since Yahoo only allows 10 links per answer these won't have the http in front of them.

Hopefully you'll find something in that mess that will help you out.

Feel free to hit me up with any questions that you have as

Adobe Illustrator Effects won't work?

I want to apply a stained glass effect, but in the drop-down menu for effects, most of the options are grey and unclickable.. is there something i need to do in order for these options to work?

Check type of effect you are applying
and check which object you are applying to,

some are for bitmap.and some work only on one object,
if you have set of objects selected, you may have to group , or change properties,

How do add highlights in illustrator?

I colored in my picture and the color is a little flat. How can I add highlights?

(I'm going on the assumption that you've actually filled in vector art in Illustrator -- and that you've not brought in a photo into Illustrator.)

Try one or more of these:
• You can use gradients which will add interest.
• It's time to learn about transparency with an opacity mask! This is where you draw, say, a shape (usually filled with white) on top of your flat art, and then copy/paste-in-front the white shape. Then it's time to roll out the opacity mask and use a black-white gradient! Read on!

You use an opacity mask and a masking object…
